face="Times New Roman">Este tipo de lucha nos da la oportunidad de convertirnos
en revolucionarios, el escalón más alto de la especie humana, pero también nos
permite graduarnos de hombres; los que no puedan alcanzar ninguno de estos dos
estadios deben decirlo y dejar la
lucha.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></I></B></P>

lang=ES><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Los que con él lucharon hasta el
final se hicieron acreedores de estos honrosos calificativos. Ellos simbolizan
el tipo de revolucionarios y de hombres a quienes la historia en esta hora
convoca para una tarea verdaderamente dura y difícil: la transformación
revolucionaria de América Latina.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN
lang=ES><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>El enemigo que enfrentaron los
próceres de la primera lucha por la independencia era un poder colonial
decadente. Los revolucionarios de hoy tienen por enemigo al baluarte más
poderoso<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>del campo imperialista,
equipado con la técnica y la industria más moderna.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN
lang=ES><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Ese enemigo no solo organizó y
equipó de nuevo un ejército en Bolivia, donde el pueblo había destruido la
anterior fuerza militar represiva, y el brindó inmediatamente el auxilio de sus
armas y asistentes militares y técnico en la misma medida a todas las fuerzas
represivas de este continente. Y cuando no bastan esas medidas, interviene
directamente con sus tropas como lo hizo en Santo Domingo.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN
lang=ES><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Para luchar contra ese enemigo se
requiere el tipo de revolucionarios y de hombres de que hablo el Che. Sin ese
tipo de revolucionarios y de hombres, dispuestos a hacer<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>lo que ellos hicieron; sin el ánimo de
enfrentarse a enormes obstáculos que ellos tuvieron; sin la decisión de morir
que ellos los acompaño en todo instante; sin la convicción profunda de la de la
justicia de su causa y la fe inconmovible en la fuerza invencible de los pueblos
que ellos albergaron<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>frente a un
poder como el imperialismo yanqui, cuyos recursos militares, técnicos y
económicos se hacen sentir en todo el mundo, la liberación de los pueblos de
este continente no sería alcanzada.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN
lang=ES><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>El propio pueblo norteamericano, que
empieza a tomar conciencia de que la monstruosa superestructura política que
rige su país no es ya hace mucho rato la idílica república burguesa que sus
fundadores establecieron hace casi doscientos años, está sufriendo en un grado
cada vez más alto la barbarie moral de un sistema irracional, enajenante,
deshumanizado y brutal, que cobra en el pueblo norteamericano cada vez más
victimas de sus guerras agresivas, sus crímenes políticos, sus aberraciones
raciales, su mezquina jerarquización del ser humano y el repugnante derroche de
recursos económicos, científicos y humanos de sus desmesurado aparato militar,
reaccionario y represivo, en medio de un mundo en sus tres cuartas partes
subdesarrollado y hambriento.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN
lang=ES><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Pero solo la transformación
revolucionaria de América Latina permitiría al pueblo de Estados Unidos ajustar
sus propias cuentas con ese mismo imperialismo, a la vez que en la misma medida
la lucha creciente del pueblo norteamericano contra la política imperialista
podría convertirlo en aliado decisivo del movimiento revolucionario en América
Latina.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN
lang=ES><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Y si esta parte del hemisferio no
sufre una profunda transformación revolucionaria, la enorme diferencia y
desequilibrio que se produjo a principios de este siglo entre la pujante nación
que se industrializaba rápidamente, al mismo paso que marchaba por la propia ley
de su dinámica social y económica hacia cumbres imperialistas, y el haz de
países débiles y estancados, sometidos a la coyunda de oligarquías feudales y
sus ejércitos reaccionarios, en el balcanizado resto del continente americano,
será apenas un pálido reflejo no ya del enorme desnivel actual en la economía,
en la ciencia y la técnica, sino del espantoso desequilibrio que, a pasos cada
vez acelerados, en veinte años más, la superestructura imperialista impondrá a
los pueblos de América Latina.</FONT></SPAN></P>

lang=ES><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>El 08 de octubre de 1967, se libro
en la Higuera, localidad de Vallegrande, en la zona oriental de Bolivia, un
combate entre rangers del ejército boliviano, adiestrados por veteranos yanquis
de Vietnam, y el último destacamento guerrillero del Ejercito de Liberación
Nacional ( ELN). Al frente de la guerrilla estaba su jefe Ernesto Che Guevara,
un patriota latinoamericano nacido en Argentina. La victoria del ejército quedó
históricamente manchada por el asesinato del Che, ordenado por la CIA. El
Comandante Guevara, herido en una pierna, fue rematado en el interior de una
escuelita de Vallegrande, que le sirvió de prisión<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>durante algunas horas.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN
lang=ES><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>El combate de la higuera cerró de
modo trágico la primera etapa de un plan revolucionario calculado para diez o
quince años.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN
lang=ES><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Diez combatientes del ELN
sobrevivieron, entre ellos tres cubanos: Harry Villegas Tamayo, Pombo; Daniel
Alarcón Ramírez, Benigno; Y Leonardo Tamayo Núñez, Urbano. Ellos y dos
bolivianos: Guido, Inti Peredo Leigue, Y David Adriazola, Dario, además de un
tercer boliviano al que solo se conoce por su seudónimo de ÑATO, y que más tarde
murió, formaron una escuadra y se alejaron del lugar. Los otros cuatro
sobrevivientes del ELN, a su vez, tomaron diferente rumbo y finalmente cayeron
en una emboscada del ejército, que los masacró.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN
lang=ES><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Cuatro mese y medio más tarde,
Pombo, Urbano y Benigno aparecieron a 1750 km de distancia de la Higuera, cerca
de la localidad de Camiña, en el desierto de la provincia de Tarapacá, Chile.
Los acompañaban dos bolivianos: Efraín Quiñones Aguilar (treinta y ocho años) y
Estanislao Vilca Colque (veintinueve años).</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN
lang=ES><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Los cinco iban desarmados y los
encontró un periodista chileno, Luis Berenguela, corresponsal de las Últimas
Noticias, de Santiago, a quien expresaron su deseo de ponerse en contacto con
las autoridades chilenas y solicitar facilidades parea retornar a
Cuba.</FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN
lang=ES><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>La hazaña de los tres guerrilleros
del ELN boliviano- cuyas cabezas fueron puestas a precio por la dictadura del
general René Barrientos- conmovió a Chile y a la opinión pública
internacional.</FONT></SPAN></P>
